Sea Trunk « Louis »

The « Louis » Sea Trunk takes its name from Louis de Freycinet, naval officer, cartographer and explorer whose life was shaped by voyages across the world’s oceans.

During his expeditions, Louis gathered extensive observations, drawings, notes and natural history collections. Henry de Freycinet conceived this trunk with that life of exploration in mind, imagining a piece his ancestor might have chosen to accompany a journey around the world.

With its generous 90 × 50 × 50 cm proportions, Louis has the presence of a traditional sea trunk while retaining the restrained elegance of the House. It is conceived both as a functional travelling object and as a substantial piece of furniture capable of holding personal possessions, archives or objects gathered over time.

Every « Louis » Sea Trunk is individually made to order in Montcaret, France. Carefully selected Italian leather, robust construction and hand-finished details are brought together to create a piece intended not for a season, but for generations.

Each « Louis » Sea Trunk is handcrafted to order in France using carefully selected Italian leather and materials selected for strength, longevity and character.

Leather is a natural material and will evolve with time and use. Protect the trunk from prolonged moisture, excessive heat, direct sunlight and abrasive or chemical cleaning products. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. For more substantial care or restoration requirements, please contact the House before applying specialist products.

Every Henry de Freycinet trunk is individually made to order in our workshop in Montcaret, France. From the selection of the leather to the final finishing and inspection, each stage reflects the attention to detail and craftsmanship that define the House.

Our trunks are created using carefully selected Italian full-grain leather and materials chosen for their quality, durability and character.

Each trunk carries its own unique serial number and is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity confirming its origin and craftsmanship.

Each « Louis » Sea Trunk is carefully inspected and prepared for transport before leaving our workshop in France. Due to its dimensions and weight, delivery is entrusted to specialist carriers suited to handling valuable and substantial pieces.

Tracking and relevant delivery information are provided once the trunk has been dispatched. Delivery times vary according to destination and begin once production has been completed.

Please inspect the shipment upon arrival. Any visible transport damage should be noted with the carrier immediately and reported to the House within 48 hours so that our team can guide you through the next steps.
